PROGRAMS

Connections, our program teaching life skills, provides ongoing educational activities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These activities support the individual in having a meaningful, valued role in the community.

Connections, our adult day training life skills program, captures the essence of building relationships, engaging with the community, and fostering the interpersonal skills necessary for thriving in various social settings. Connections are not just the individual links people form with others but also encompass the broader network of support, understanding, and collaboration that our program aims to cultivate among participants and within our community.

Areas of training include self-advocacy, social skills, physical fitness, and vocational development. These services are scheduled for six hours daily during weekdays.  Many individuals who participate in our program are actively seeking employment in the community.  Some individuals are currently employed but attend the program part-time to enhance their skills in the areas in which they are most interested.

Weekly activities include volunteer work, workplace job shadowing and tours, guest speakers from local employers, guest community instructors in art, etiquette, and exercise, and individualized activities to attain personal goals.

“I wish there were more organizations out there like them.”
